This
is as cool as they come. Bore and stroke about 3 feet
by seven and and a half feet. About 109,000
horsepower. I can't imagine the horrendous torque this
puts out. Used in the largest container ships. Built
by noted powerplant builder DU-Suizer. They obviously
have ignored limitations of "small" thinking. These
pictures were sent to me by another engine enthusiast.
Everytime I look at an engine bearing I think of these
three fellows lifting one single bearing shell into
place. For more information; you can research the
engine number DU-SUIZER 12RT A96C. If you find the
original source of these pictures please let me know
so I can give proper credit. Thanks.
