Picture
on right compares length 233-04 Remanufactured
Starter; (7 1/4" - 7 1/2" long) to 233-07 New
Starter at bottom and on left (5 3/4" long).
Either will work with *headers. Diameter of main
body on the 233-07 is about 3.6".
No
wasted length here! The 233-07 is the shortest
of the short for maxium durability against the
exhaust heat.
Some
of the original starters were 8 1/2" to 9 1/2"
long. Length refers to distance between mounting
flange and rear of starter. This would
correspond to the length you see when starter is
mounted to engine.
*Most
headers. There is always the possibility of
having headers that won't allow installation of
starter without removing them. Anything is
possible since headers can vary dramatically in
construction.
