VENT GRILL SCREWS 1963-1970

#005-06 single screw #005-06x6 (set of 6)

Same part from Nissan; but these are about 1/8 inch longer than the originals to give them a better chance of working properly. Sheet metal screw holes are never the same after removing the original screw and 40 years of vibration and rust. Sometimes you even have to "cheat" with some tiny pieces of tinfoil or electrical tape to enlarge screw ever so slightly.

Originally the cars came with tiny, thin, white plastic washers under the screw heads; Nissan #73970-25760 which were sold out decades ago. I have sometimes found close approximations at "big box" hardware stores like McLendon's, Home Depot, or Lowes. You want them flexible enough that they can conform to the shape of the screw-head.
