Your's may have been filled in; but originally the cars came with holes in the rocker panels for the original jack to use to lift the car. These jacks had a tendency to fall over; gouging the door or worse if you didn't notice it in time to get out of the way. Always carry some ready made rubber/plastic wheel chocks or something to block the wheels. If one rear wheel is up; having the car in gear no longer holds it. A hydraulic jack or "screw" jack is safer; the original jack can be used just to lift the car high enough to slide one of the aforementiored jacks in place. From Nissan.
