Type
"A" is retained on the post by a nut that has
smooth sides; and the wiper arm itself has no
threads internally. Both "A" and "B" types screw
down on to the pivot stud on the car. The type "B"
arm has threads inside it (see arrow); and the
matching nut has threads on it's outer side (see
arrow). This is designed so you can unscrew the nut
to remove the arm but the nut doesn't fall off and
get lost. You can remove the retaining nut by
continuing to unscrew it past that point.

   There
are two types of original wiper arms for the 68-70.
They are interchangeable as long as you have the
                  correct matching retaining nut.
